Google made Gmail load faster

We all want Gmail to be really fast,So the Google Team is really putting their efforts to make gmail work real faster then ever. There are so many areas which we do not notice whats cooking in the background while accessing gmail account,we can simply say that it takes long time to reach gmail account,ie the time we click on sign in button to the time landing into our inbox. Now you can notice that load time has decreased upto 20%.

Google had to use lot many different web development tools like Httpwatch, WireShark, and Fiddler plus google's own performance measuring systems, although some tools are limited to working only with certain browsers. The Httpwatch plug-in for Internet Explorer was one that proved easy to use.It also helps in capturing and saving browser traces.

Google found that there were between fourteen and twenty-four HTTP requests required to load an inbox and display it.To put these numbers in perspective,a popular network news site's home page required about a 180 requests to fully load,Google had reduced the number of overall requests,by eliminating or narrowing the scope of some of gmail cookies.Google used spritting technique by which it consolidates small icon images into single meta-images.

So the next you login to your Gmail's account, you'll realize that Gmail is loading real faster.
