How to repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express

The Resolution provided here is for repairing Internet Explorer 6 as well as Outlook Express problems

Follow these methods if you have internet explorer 6:

Method #1 - Installing Internet explorer 7 (This might not resolve the issues related Outlook Express)
- Install Internet Explorer 7 (click here to download ie7)
-After installing internet explorer 7 follow these steps to repair damaged files or missing registration information in internet explorer 7:
- Open your internet explorer 7
- Click on Tools menu and go to internet options
- Click on Advanced tab Click on Reset
- In the Rest Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click on Reset to confirm

Method #2 - Installing Windows XP Service pack 2 (If you do not wish to install internet explorer 7,this resolution might repair the internet explorer 6 but probably will not repair Otlook Express)
- To install Windows XP Service Pack 2 visit http://update.microsoft.com
- Then Click on Express installation which is always recommended
- If your windows is Genuine then it will automatically selects Windows Xp service pack 2 to be installed
- Click install

Method 3: Repair Internet Explorer 6 by using the System File Checker in Windows XP

If you already have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed, and you do not want to install Internet Explorer 7, you may be able to resolve problems with Internet Explorer 6 by running the System File Checker. Additionally, running the System File Checker may help resolve issues with Outlook Express.
To run the System File Checker, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.
- Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
- Restart the computer when System File Checker process is complete.
