How Do I Restore The Missing Address Bar In Internet Explorer Even Though The Option Is Enabled On The View Menu

There is the odd occasion when the Address bar option disappears from Internet Explorer. Under normal circumstances this is due to the address bar option being disabled in the View Toolbars menu. If you find that the address bar has disappeared but the address bar option is enabled in the View>Toolbar>address menu then proceed as follows:

1/ Click Start
2/ From the Start menu click Run
3/ In the Run dialogue box type: 'REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL' (without the quotes) and press OK
4/ Reboot your PC
5/ The address bar should now be back on the main toolbar

An alternative approach would be as follows:
1/ In Internet Explorer click View on the main toolbar and then, from the drop down menu, select Toolbars
2/ On the toolbar list check that there is a check mark next to the Address bar option
3/ Remove the check mark from the address option
4/ If the Address bar appears in the upper right corner and not available, Right Click Address and click Lock Toolbar to remove the check mark
5/ Finally click Address and drag the address bar to where you want it.

If this doesn't work then do the following:

1/ Click Start
2/ from the Start menu click Run
3/ In the Run dialogue box type: regedit and click OK
4/ Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
5/ Right click on the WebBrowser key and click Delete then click Yes
6/ Finally Open Internet Explorer, click View on the main toolbar.

It's rare that anyone at Microsoft talks publicly about Windows 7, the next version of Windows. It's even rarer that anyone provides actual information about what might be inside the operating system, which is still in the planning stages.
However, Microsoft has posted a video of a recent university lecture given by Distinguished Engineer Eric Traut in which he talks about, among other things, a new, slimmed down kernel known as MinWin that was created as part of the Windows 7 development process.
The kernel, which lacks Vista's bells and whistles or even a graphics system at all, takes up just 25MB on disk as compared with 4GB that the full Windows Vista takes up. And while people would need far more than MinWin to run even a basic Web server, Traut said it shows that Windows, at its heart, does not have to be a monster resource hog.
That's kind of proof that there is actually a nice little core inside of Windows," Traut said. "A lot of people think of Windows as this really large, bloated operating system and that's maybe a fair characterization, I have to admit. It is large. It contains a lot of stuff in it, but at its core, the kernel and the components that make up the very core of the operating system actually are pretty streamlined.
Traut stressed that MinWin, though it uses the Windows 7 code base, probably won't be used on its own.
This is an internal only (thing), Traut said in the video. "You won't see us productizing this, but you can imagine this being used as the basis for products in the future.
He did hint at some of the possibilities.
We're definitely going to be using this internally to build all of the products that are based on Windows," he said. "We build a lot of products based on this kernel.
Beyond powering laptops and desktops, Traut notes that the Windows core powers servers, media centers and smaller embedded devices. "This will provide us the ability to move into even more areas," he said.
The full video runs quite long and talks a lot about hypervisors and other stuff, but blogger Long Zheng posted a clip of just the relevant part of the talk on his istartedsomething site. Step 3: Running the Batch file

1. Click Start and then Run.

2. Type cmd and click OK.

3. In the Command Prompt window type the following lines (pressing Enter after each line):

cd program files

cd windows resource kits

cd tools

sub

Note: Once the sub command is entered it will execute the batch file. The batch file may take between 20 to 30 minutes to complete. During this time please do not close the command prompt window as this will interrupt the process. Once the batch file is done running on the system the window will close on its own.

4. When the command window has disappeared please restart the computer.

1. Click on start and run then type regedit in run command window and click ok.

2. You will see my computer icon in the list click on small plus sign next to my computer icon and follow this path to open internet settings:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\INTERNET SETTINGS

3. If you have problems playing with registry then see the picture to follow this particular path

4. Look in the right-hand window and see if you can see two strings named (double click on the strings to put decimal value):

MaxConnectionsPerServer set the decimal value to 30

MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server the decimal value to 35

If the strings don't exist in the right-hand window,then they will need to be added manually. Follow the procedure below,and then come back to recap on how you change the value.

To add the registry keys, right click in the white space on the right-hand window in the Internet Settings directory.

Select New DWORD Value.Enter MaxConnectionsPerServer as the string name, hit return and then repeat the procedure, this time entering MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server

as the string name.Now go back to the section that explains how to modify the values of these strings and do so.

Once you have done all as detailed above, close down Regedit. There is no need to reboot the PC, the improvement should be instantly noticeable.

Microsoft Releases Windows XP SP3 Beta

The major update to Windows XP is going to be released soon. Late last week Microsoft has released the latest beta of SP3 to its tier-one beta testers.

SP3 will put some new features into Windows XP instead of releasing all the hotfixes and patches. The new features in service pack 3 will be somewhat similar with windows vista.

The new few features sp3 would be as follows:

• Network Access Protection modules and policies
• New Microsoft Kernel Mode Cryptographic model
• New "Black Hole Router" detection
• New Windows Product Activation model

There are somewhere around 1,073 patches and hotfixes included in the release - 114 of which are security related updates. The remaining are reliability updates, BSOD fixes, bugfixes, performance fixes, and improvements to the kernel.

Service Pack 3 is compatible with all 32-bit versions of Windows XP, so no matter if you're on windows XP Professional, Home, or Media Center Edition, you'll be able to get all the updates and improvements.An update to Windows XP is going to show just how hard of a fight the OS is going to put up before it is eventually put down late next June.

Adsense Publishers can now apply for Ad-Supported YouTube Videos which earns revenue from companion ads, which shows the video window like banner ads and text overlay ads on the web page.

On Monday 8 October,Google said it has introduced ad-supported YouTube videos and are available to publishers for AdSense network.

Adsense publishers can now enjoy earnings from both video unit ads as well as text unit ads which shows automated ads related to the content of the website.The video units on publisher's site will be updated periodically.

Google was experimenting video units for AdSense since last year. It has run pilot programs offering ad-supported content from MTV Networks, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group to a limited group of online publishers.

Now any English-language AdSense publisher in the U.S. can sign on to AdSense account and generate HTML code that can be embedded into web page and publish video ad units.
